Two things brought about tonight's socialising, the star chart and my twitter friends. I was told early on in the week that one twitter friend was coming to York to stay at another twitter friends B&B in York this weekend, a great chance to have a meet up. We were going for a meal then a Ghost Walk, I knew this would be totally up T's street and asked her if she thought that would be a great reward for her completing this weeks star chart....it would.
In my head I have decided a resolution for the New Year would be to say No more and to also say Yes more, this may sound contradictory, my interpretation of this is to say No to, can you just do for me, and say Yes to new things that I wouldn't normally contemplate, the Ghost Walk I would normally have said no to.
After an Italian meal, I never will get the fascination of toilets for the girls, they were up and down like a tarts drawers, we were on the early bird sitting, so the staff totally wanted rid by 7.30pm, we worked out the bill, hats, scarfs and gloves put on. This must be one of the coldest nights of the year thus far, we were off for the Ghost Walk. Greeted by a man in a top hat looking very dark, he had one eye looking at you and one eye looking for you. I was amazed at how many people were there, it must have been around 50 people.
T was in her element she loves all things ghost and ghoulie. A a little more reticent, me and her stood at the back so missed most of what was said, we also missed the water spray, T right at the front in the thick of everything. I didn't realise that living so near York that there are so many places I never knew existed, hidden little back streets, along some beautiful buildings lit up in the night. There were two very tall men one of which got called in as a muse to the Ghost Man, I asked if they were from Russia listening to the accent, no they were from Croatia, I asked if that was on the border of Russia and discovered I really need to brush up on my geography.
It was something I would normally have said no to, I did enjoy it, the kids, particularly T loved it. I really enjoyed spending time with my twitter friends and now realise saying yes to things I would normally say no to is not as bad as I think it will be. The star chart treat worked for us all.
