Pivotal and Periphferal

Over my fifty odd years of being on this earth I have realised apart from your immediate family other people can be all encompassing in your life or on the edge of it. This position can be inter changeable depending on what is going on in their or your life. We dip in and out.

Since the beginning of the year I have been helping my cousin start a new life here where we live, he has settled in well and knows he has a family support network around him bringing up his son. We have had a huge family feud for many years but that has gone by the wayside as in the end family stick together whatever. I invited him for dinner, his partner is tagged and can only be out until seven.

Friday was the school disco, the kids look so forward to it and get excited, as the chair of the PTA I have a role and dishing out hotdogs was it. I will be very happy to relinquish this in September. The few mums meet organise stuff and then go on our way.

It was my daughters birthday on Friday, I rang to say the girls and I would call to see her on Saturday, her step sister called me to say she was up north this weekend and would like to see the girls, she is on a witness protection.

At times we juggle all these people some are on the periphery and at times they are pivotal .

You couldn't make it up.
